Bildhypothesen-Korpus
Visual Hypothesis Corpus
A historical image corpus — British Library book plates — held not as a catalogue of
objects but as a network of observations, provenance, and evidence. A crop boundary, an
image-type label, a segmentation mask, a semantic match, a sampling choice: each is a machine
observation attached to its source and traceable to the model that produced it. Dive an atom to
walk its provenance; the layers are kept distinct so a machine reading is never mistaken for a fact.
Whose reading is this?
rule 0
Never read a machine prediction as fact. A segmentation, a type label, a retrieval match, and a
sampling selection are each an observation — shown with its model and status, attached
to the source, never merged into it. Uncertainty and failed joins are preserved, not smoothed away.
