Manāzil al-Qamar, 'the stations of the Moon' — the twenty-eight resting-places of the Moon along its monthly path in Arabic astronomy. With the Chinese twenty-eight mansions and the Indian Nakshatra, it is one of three great traditions that quartered the lunar sky into some twenty-seven or twenty-eight lodges.
