Trigger — WHEN a workload is due. `boot` (a deploy airs: the schedule's first slot is the boot) and/or `then`, which is either `every:<n>s` or `daily:HH:MMZ` (UTC, and the Z is in the spelling so nobody has to remember which clock). It is the only cadence: a workload with a second timer of its own is the defect this field replaced.
