Three fish share a pool: the Far-sighted, the Quick-witted, and the Fatalist. Hearing fishermen plan to drain the pool tomorrow, the Far-sighted leaves at once by the channel; when the nets come, the Quick-witted feigns death and is thrown back; but the Fatalist, who trusted to fate and did nothing, is caught.
