Panchatantra Doves Net

tale:panchatantra_doves_net

A flock of doves descends on scattered grain and is caught together under a hunter's net. Their king bids them not to struggle apart but to beat their wings as one; rising together, they carry off the whole net and fly to a friendly mouse, who gnaws every dove free. Moral: acting as one, the many escape what no one could alone. — Panchatantra (attrib. Vishnu Sharma)
