Anansi gathers all the world's wisdom into a great pot to keep for himself, and tries to climb a tree to hide it, clutching the pot against his belly so that he cannot grip. His small son calls out to tie it on his back instead — and Anansi, enraged that wisdom remains in the world despite his hoarding, dashes the pot to pieces, scattering wisdom everywhere for everyone.
