Bismuth (Bi): post-transition metal; used in pharmaceuticals (bismuth subsalicylate — Pepto-Bismol), lead-free solders and plumbing fittings, cosmetics, and pigments; low toxicity compared to lead. China is primary producer; largely a byproduct of lead refining.
