BrowserOS is building an open-source AI browser whose agent loop runs on the user's own machine rather than on a remote server. That architectural choice allows the browser agent to work with local files and shell commands without first uploading those files to a cloud-based agent service. The project can use local models as well as externally provided model APIs.
